Why New Zealand?

It has been 6 months since we left Colorado to embark on this adventure in New Zealand.  I have been reflecting quite a lot on what has led us to leave our beautiful state of Colorado to travel across the world to this exotic location.  It is impossible to reflect on these things without thinking about my mother.  I watched my kind and loving mother die just 11 months ago.  She was probably my greatest supporter and I really do miss her so much.  She said, “There is no safer place to be than in the center of God’s will”.  This statement had real substance for my mother and father as they lived out the last 25 years of their lives in the Republic of Georgia.

When I look at our family and the environment/culture that we have been born into, I can’t help but be affected by my parents lives and how they have lived.  Are those true words?  I am betting my life on it, and I am betting the lives of my wife and children on those words as well.  But not just those words, I am also betting my life on the words of Jesus as a whole, and I am studying those words as much as I can find time to do it.  That, in a nutshell, is why we have moved to New Zealand.  This place and opportunity has become a foundation for our family and a place to put our hearts and souls into studying the Bible and the meaning of Jesus' words,  "Christ in you the hope of Glory"  Colossians 1:27

So when you think about us please pray for us, and know that we are thinking about all of you constantly.  Many of you may know that this has not been an easy road for us coming here.  We really miss all of you so much.  We want to continue our friendships with each of you.  I know that means more of a concerted effort on both of our parts but we invite you to join us in life.  Also, please remember that your friends in New Zealand would love visitors when you happen to be traveling to the southern hemisphere.  :)
